ABOUT POWER FLOAT CONCRETE
What is Power Float Concrete?
A power float is a hand-operated machine used to produce a smooth, dense and level surface finish to insulate concrete beds.
Power floating eliminates the time and materials needed to apply a finishing screed and is quicker and less labour intensive process than hand trowelling.
Power floats have an electric motor or petrol engine fixed over a circular pan or skimmer which smooths concrete before hardened steel reversible metal blades rotate at up to 150 rpm over the surface to create a hardened finish.
Power floated floors are hard wearing and require no further finishes, however, resins, polishing and screeds can all be applied to the surface. Why Order Power Floated Concrete with us? We consider the finished use of the floor and can design the structural floors to meet your requirements. Our experienced team has over 35 years of input into designing flooring solutions for high street retailers, schools, offices and warehouse facilities.

OTHER: Concrete Broom Finish
BROOM FINISHES HAVE BEEN USED FOR MANY YEARS AND PROVIDE A DURABLE, HIGH-TRACTION SURFACE.
A good broom finish is something of an art. You can even create decorative effects by running the broom texture in various directions. Typically the broom should be run from side to side of the concrete without stopping. With a standard broom, you should pull the broom towards you, then lift it and set it back on the far side to pull it across again. Marion Brush makes a brush (the Auto Glide) where the head automatically tilts to the correct angle, so you can get a good broom finish whether you are pushing or pulling the broom.
All Concrete Finishes
Troweling or Floating. Once the concrete has been tooled with a screed, concrete finishers utilise trowels to smooth and fine-level the surface of the concrete:
- Broom Finish
- Exposed Aggregate Finish
- Salt Finish
- Stamped Concrete
- Concrete Stain
